Bardacious Bath

Nestled in the heart of Bath, Bardacious is a vibrant escape to the sun-drenched coasts of Mexico, where the jungle meets the sea. This new venue offers a seamless blend of relaxed dining and an intimate tequila bar experience. Our role was to deliver a meticulously crafted lighting design that enhances the warmth and authenticity of the space.

This project was unique due to the Grade II listed status of the building so our team worked closely with the external design and architectural teams to implement a lighting solution that respects the historical integrity of the space while servicing it’s modern hospitality needs. Ensuring both functional efficiency and aesthetic appeal, the lighting was designed to seamlessly integrate into the venue’s architectural and interior elements.

With a layout designed around an open kitchen and a striking central bar, it was crucial for the lighting to provide both ambient and task illumination while supporting flexible seating arrangements. Every element was carefully considered to enhance the guest experience throughout the day and into the evening, creating a dynamic atmosphere that adapts to the shifting moods of the space.

To achieve the warm and inviting atmosphere envisioned for Bardacious, we incorporated a selection of high-performance lighting fixtures that balance style, efficiency and sustainability. Natural, raw finishes used in the interior design such as clay paints, reclaimed oak and hessian were complemented by our carefully curated lighting design to ensure a seamless fusion of materials and light.

Our product selections included the TUB GU10 Track Mounted LED Luminaire, a versatile and efficient fixture available in multiple lumen outputs and colour temperatures to suit varying lighting requirements. The SWAP M Recessed LED Luminaire was chosen for subtle yet effective illumination, blending effortlessly with the venue’s natural textures. The QSTORM Vapour Proof Batten, an IP66-rated, multi-wattage, switchable colour LED lighting solution, was integrated to ensure durability and efficiency in key service areas. Additionally, we implemented emergency lighting solutions such as the QPIN 3HR recessed self-test emergency downlight, the EMTRAC LED track-mounted emergency downlight, and the RA Emergency Exit Box, all ensuring safety without compromising aesthetic cohesion.

Lighting plays a pivotal role in defining the character of a space and Bardacious is no exception. By thoughtfully layering ambient and accent lighting, the venue transitions seamlessly from a lively daytime eatery to a sultry evening destination. The gentle glow of recessed luminaires, combined with strategically placed track lighting accentuates the earthy textures and rich colours that transform the dining experience for guests. Every lighting element was selected and positioned to evoke a sense of relaxation and warmth.
